Trees for Tomorow -~ ~ A lowcountry Legacy was established in March, 2012 to encourage and promote the planting, maintenance and preservation of trees native to or long identified with the lowcountry.

October 1st., 2012

“I would like to thank all the Board Members, volunteers, donors, sponsors – and the public – for their support of our ongoing reforestation plan.”

“Thanks to all of you – we have planted over 5000 trees in about 400 days! We are a third of the way to our five year goal of 15,000 trees planted.”

“ Our goals for the future are lofty. We have declared 2015 “The Year Of The Magnolia” – because so many have disappeared from our landscape over the years, only to be replaced with a lot of non native species – or concrete, asphalt and steel. The Board will be meeting soon and will be announcing more plans for the future.”

“In the mean time, if you would like to volunteer for future projects, be considered for a position on our Board – or if you would like to pledge financial support, please contact us thru this website.”

“Todd and I recently gave presentations at Waccamaw Intermediate School and Cub Scout Pack 853 about the ‘Importance Of Trees’. We would be glad to do the same for any group that is interested. Again – just contact us thru this website please.”

“We received the largest Tree Grant in the state from Palmetto Pride last year – and again this year. We are working towards a much larger public participation for our next tree planting event. If you or your company would like to Sponsor a species of tree, just call me at 457-8126.”

“We are also looking for passionate volunteers who can help us grow. Let me know if you are interested! Thank you for your support.”
